Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of general liability and insurance defense litigation matters from inception to resolution
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and arbitrations
- Interview witnesses and prepare clients for depositions and trial testimony
- Collaborate with internal teams, including claims professionals and other attorneys, to evaluate and assess claims
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution methods
- Monitor and manage deadlines, ensuring timely and efficient case progression
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents in insurance defense litigation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in California and good standing
- 3+ years of experience as an Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney
- Extensive knowledge of insurance law, regulations, and court procedures
- Proven experience handling insurance defense litigation cases independently
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
