Job Description

Position: Fund Accountant Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Type: Full Time

Rate: $120k to $140k/Per Annum

Summary:

As the Manager, Closed-End Fund Accounting, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance of books and records for various private partnerships and accounts. Reporting to clients and collaborating with the portfolio group, you will be responsible for a range of financial activities and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of books and records for pooled private investment funds, including limited partnerships and separate accounts.
  • Conduct accounting and reconciliation of cash, investments, and real property.
  • Record and reconcile purchase and sale transactions.
  • Handle accounting for complex corporate actions.
  • Estimate and post monthly closing accruals.
  • Calculate income and expense allocations to partners, updating distribution waterfalls based on governing documents.
  • Determine and prepare distributions and drawdowns.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients.
  • Analyze and calculate performance metrics for partnerships/accounts and individual investments.
  • Coordinate with funds’ independent auditors, custodians, prime brokers, and fund administrators.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting or audit experience, preferably within Big Four public accounting or a combination of public accounting and investment management industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
