The PIH Health Good Samaritian Hospital (PHGSH) Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have operational oversight is directly responsible for strategic management of PHGSH operations, including nursing and ancillary services, including laboratory, radiology, respiratory, and cardiology.This individual ensures coordination between the hospital and the integrated delivery system (IDS)to promote the delivery of safe patient care, and ensures the communities PIH Health serves have access to high-quality care, in keeping with the organization’s charitable mission.
As an ambassador of PIH Health, the COO is active in city events, chambers, organizations, and committees for the purpose of furthering our organizational presence and enhancing community relationships. They serve as a link between PIH Heath and the people it serves, soliciting feedback from external stakeholders for the purpose of improving services and programs.
The PHGSH COO works directly with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in leading necessary change to achieve goals in the areas of growth, quality, finance, and brand preservation. They develop business plans outlining the future direction of the hospital consistent with the enterprise’s strategic plan. This individual provides leadership of hospital operations and ensures that PHGSH facilities meet all regulatory and compliance requirements. They maintain strong physician relationships and ensures that the Medical Staff functions as a partner in achieving patient care and financial goals. Develops a multi-disciplinary team approach to provide service and medical care. Establishes effective operations. Conserves physical and financial assets. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Required Experience
Required:
- Seven (7) years of accomplished healthcare leadership in a large, complex, and integrated healthcare setting.
- Graduate degree in Business, Healthcare Administration is preferred, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- A visionary, proactive leader with the ability to command respect and obtain support to accomplish the vision.
- Demonstrated, strong operation focus, with high attention to macro and micro levels.
- The ability to effectively analyze complex issues/problems and lead/influence individuals and groups in developing and implementing successful resolution tactics.
- The ability to set and maintain high standards of performance in a collegial environment, holding people accountable for achieving deliverables. An outcome driven leader.

- Develop and foster strong, collaborative relationships, including with the community, medical staff, and corporate leadersrhip to drive success at PHGSH.
- Collaboration, integration, and/or mergers and alliances of other regional health care entities to improve the overall health of the community. Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to “close the deal” on acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and partnerships.
