Job Summary:
To provide Decision Support to Senior Management in organizational-wide business and economic decision making Goals and Objectives. Also provide Decision Support to all hospital management to facilitate operational decisions requiring financial analysis.
Providing financial oversight for the management and implementation of the Cost Accounting module of the Cost Flex Decision Support System.
Updating knowledge of GAAP through current literature, professional association and other publications.
Performing Hospital Cost accounting analysis and update periodically to support program analysis and service line assessments.
Drawing knowledge of GAAP and industry trends, develops working knowledge of PPO/HMO contracting strategies and pricing methods.
Maintaining current working knowledge of reimbursement principles and trends. Providing strategic recommendation for upcoming contract modeling plans
Incorporating this knowledge to support financial assessment and analyses of managed care contracts and feasibility studies.
Analyzing cost and utilization data and recommend optimum rate proposals in contract negotiations.
Acting as lead resource for compiling, analyzing and calculating costs using Cost Flex System.
Meeting with department heads to coordinate cost data to determine full and incremental costs for procedure and major product lines.
Preparing Cost analysis reports and provide financial analyses of clinical programs.
Providing decision support to facilitate sound financial assessments at the procedure, patient and department levels.
Using systematic methods to resolve problems, plans, change and evaluate outcome.
Responsibility for the initiation, cultivation and maintenance of friction-free relationships of a business or professional nature with any one or more of the following; government agencies, financial institutions, or the general community.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst in hospital environment.
Knowledge of the process for recording, classifying and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with established guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to a specific subject area or function
