Our client, an Educational Institution, is seeking a Sr. Paralegal to join their team. As a Sr. Paralegal you will be part of the Legal Team. The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or Paralegal Certificate, and 6+ years of litigation experience, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Rate: $40.87 – $57.69
What’s the Job:
- Work with counsel to identify and collect materials from various campus departments and employees to respond to subpoenas, prepare legal responses and support outside counsel. This includes contacting clients to determine if they have information or records relevant to a subpoena or records request, assisting them in collecting emails and other records, and reporting to the supervising attorney concerns and outcomes.
- Readying records for production. This includes organizing records, reviewing them closely to make redactions; Bates-stamping) and organizing large document productions to allow for review by others, and to allow for reporting on the status of matters.
- Making productions (via email, Box, and other electronic means).
- Handling our internal intake process for incoming agency matters including notifying appropriate HR reps of need to obtain personnel file, notification of assigned attorney, responding to agency with extension requests, assisting in preparation of exhibits for submission to the agency including reviewing and redacting information, arranging witness interviews.
- Tracking documents and other materials, preparing charts, and helping attorneys analyze and organize information.
- Communicating with clients to notify them of the status of cases, new case filings, and the need to provide information and records to counsel.
- Using a variety of electronic systems and programs to assist with the above including Adobe Acrobat (for Bates numbering, redaction, combining files) and organization specific programs.
- Review and redaction of records to respond to public records requests and subpoenas,
- Development of tracking charts including listing of document dates, custodian of records, description of contents of documents, attorneys handling the matter, and must have the ability to analyze and organize information.
- Organizing large document productions to allow for review by others, and to allow for reporting on the status of matters.
- Contacting clients to determine if they have information or records relevant to a subpoena or records request, assisting them in collecting emails and other records, and reporting to the supervising attorney concerns and outcomes.
- Sending emails to clients notifying them of the status of cases, new case filings, and the need to provide information and records to counsel.
- Must possess strong knowledge of using Adobe Acrobat to include bates numbering, electronic organization including combining files; ability to review and apply appropriate redactions.
- Must be a careful listener who carries out instructions as given and does not alter projects without discussion with the assigning party.
- Handle intake process for incoming DFEH and EEOC complaints including notifying appropriate HR reps of need to obtain personnel file, notification of assigned attorney, responding to agency with extension requests, assisting in preparation of exhibits for submission to the agency including reviewing and redacting information, arranging witness interviews.
