This individual will play a critical role in understanding and interpreting operational and financial data, fostering innovation, facilitating collaborative engagement, and promoting an inclusive and ethical culture within USC schools and business units. Job Accountabilities: The candidate for the position ofBusiness Strategy Analystwill be responsible for: + Strategic Insight Generation and Innovation Advocacy: Analyze operational and financial metrics for USC schools and business units to provide key insights to inform high-level decision-making. Stay updated with the latest trends in business operations and identify areas for strategic improvement. + Schools and Business Units Support and Advisory: Understand the budgeting and fiscal planning activities of USC schools and business units to provide better strategic advice. Keep abreast of best practices and emerging solutions that can support their needs. Represent HREC Strategy positively in all interactions, establishing and maintaining productive relationships. + Collaborative Engagement and Process Enhancement: Collaborate with stakeholders from USC schools and business units to gather inputs and refine processes. Facilitate interviews, focus groups and discussions to understand operational challenges and identify potential areas for improvement. + Organizational Strategy: Understand and interpret organizational strategies of schools and business units. Provide insights and recommendations to align their operational activities with strategic goals and objectives. + Promotion of Diversity & Ethics: Advocate for a culture that values diversity and allows for fair contribution, in alignment with the USC Code of Ethics. Minimum Qualifications: The candidate for the position ofBusiness Strategy Analystmust meet the following qualifications: + Bachelors degree in business, management, or a related field. + Previous experience in strategy consulting, consulting, or related work. + Five years experience in project management and/or business administration. + Demonstrated analytical, creative, and strategic thinking skills for managing complex business processes. + Knowledge of process improvement methodologies. + Excellent communication, relationship-building, and meeting facilitation skills. + Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting concepts, ideally within a university environment. + Excellent written and oral communications skills, able to exercise discretion with confidential information. + Experience developing scheduled and ad-hoc reports and presenting analytical findings to audiences. + Ability to independently and proactively design, develop and implement recommended performance improvements, and collaboratively maintain business solutions. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate for the position ofBusiness Strategy Analysthas the following qualifications: + Master’s degree in business, management, or a related field. + Seven or more years experience in consulting, higher education, or a related field. + Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing assignments with tight deadlines in environments with frequent interruptions. The annual base salary range for this position is $94,037.35 – $118,000.00.
