Our organization is committed to maintaining a positive and engaging workplace for all employees.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Warehouse Worker/Baler Operator is responsible for effectively performing a variety of positions throughout the facility in a safe, effective, and accurate manner while following procedures and processes, and maintaining and improving the efficiency and safety in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and the Food Bank’s mission, vision and values. Demonstrate the Food Bank’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.WHAT YOU’LL DOBaler and Warehouse Duties: Safely operate cardboard baler, and horizontal baler as directed. Complete routine paperwork to log bale amounts and dates. Assist Production Coordinators in gathering production supplies, packaging materials and equipment, including dumping boxes and lifting stacks of cardboard and plastic wrap. Assist in hand-packing and hand-stacking product/cases onto pallets as neededSafety and Sanitation: Operate all clean in place (CIP) and clean out of place (COP) systems as necessary. Clean machinery, equipment, warehouse structures such as racking, safety posts, walls and floors. Ensure all chemicals, buckets and pumps are properly tagged according to safety requirements. Empty and dispose of outdated or destroy product in accordance with established guidelines. Follow established programs, policies and practices to comply with food and personal safety that meet regulatory and organization requirements including Lock-out/Tag-outQUALIFICATIONSMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh School diploma or GED; 3 years manufacturing experience; or combination of education and experienceMust be able to work around perishable and packaged food products containing ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergensSelf-motivated and self-directedAbility to meet deadlines with limited supervisionEffective oral/written communication skills (English/Spanish desired)Good planning and organizational skillsFlexible to work any shift as neededValid CA Driver’s License and access to a reliable and insured vehicle. Required to travel within Los Angeles County.
