A Day in the Life (Just a Few of the Things You Will Do):

  • Provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program.
  • Provide support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintain operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
  • Assist with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system.
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
  • Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
  • Provide configuration management for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, C&A packages, and SRTMs.

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking Systems Security Engineer to join their team.

Work Location:   Annapolis Junction, MD  

Telework Availability: No Telework Availability   

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • 15+ years’ experience performing and providing security support to hardware, software, and applications. Bachelor’s Degree in a related Technical Field may be substituted for 4 years’ experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience providing technical guidance to mid-level personnel.
  • Experience developing technical documentation.
  • Technical experience with:
    • XACTA, Gatekeeper, ROCBLASTER, KnightSupreme, LatteArt, and CASPORT
    • Review system logs
    • Taking a system to ATO and reauthorization of systems
    • Creating data flow diagrams
    • Secure the Enterprise Initiatives
    • Audit reduction tools (SEAR, SPLUNK)
    • Basic Unix operating system commands and log files
    • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills to resolve information security challenges.
    • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
    • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members.
    • Effective written and oral communication with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the business.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE (although NOT required):

  • CISSP certification.
  • Previous client ISSO experience.
  • Experience with IAVAs, audit events, and managing entitlements.
