What will you do?

The Business Development Manager (AKA: Project Development Engineer/Manager (PDE)) is part of GSI’s client management team and responsible for identifying prospective customers, lead generation and conversion. PDEs assess client needs and present products and solutions that provide value to the client. Daily tasks will include meeting and facilitating consumer demand, working with GSI’s team to create innovative solutions to solve customer concerns, and developing sales strategies that will increase sales and customer base. How will you make a difference?

  • Deploy best-in-class sales process & tools to analyze local market to create and implement tailored project development strategies that increase sales to existing clients and develops new clients.
  • Regularly attend and host client meetings, trade shows, sales meetings, and other miscellaneous industry-related events to understand opportunities to serve, educate clients, and build relationships.
  • Challenges the status quo of the territory and industry, identifying new ways to improve the client experience.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations that are compelling, accurate, and informative.
  • Stay current with industry trends and expand industry knowledge. This includes becoming an expert on GSI’s products and services as well as industry design guidance.
  • Study sales volume and industry trends to understand how to best penetrate the market and gain consumer interest
  • Develop sales strategies that focus on growth and meeting commitments
  • Achieve consistent sales over time, even in periods of change in consumer interest
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to less experienced PDEs
  • Timely response to client requests.

Job Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or related field
  • MBA and/or engineering background, preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical / consultative selling environment.
  • Specific industry experience not required, focused on suitability and alignment of related experience, job requirements, and the ability to execute the roles and responsibilities within this position.

 

Physical Demands & Working Environment

  • Light to Medium
  • Ability to physically make field visits, walk steep slopes, and traverse geohazards during site assessments
  • Travel: As required, but heavy travel will be required
  • Work Location: Employee must be located in the Western Region of the United States within a 1 hour commute of a major airport
