Sepsis Program Coordinator, RN

We embrace a culture of passion and dedication at Cedars-Sinai—we hope you do too! It’s part of the reason we’ve been ranked the #1 hospital in California and #2 hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, 2022-23. Now we invite you to join us. From working with a team of outstanding healthcare professionals to working in advanced and modern facilities, you’ll have everything you can imagine to make incredible things happen—for yourself, and for others!

Are you ready to be a part of something greater? In this Sepsis Program Coordinator role, you will develop your skills as a leader, consultant, and educator. You will positively impact the healthcare outcomes of patients who may be at risk of developing sepsis or septic shock. With your proven competence and knowledge of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Crisis Team and hospital staff to support the multidisciplinary care of the septic patient. At Cedars-Sinai, you’ll both learn from and educate other dedicated healthcare professionals every day and do work that makes things better for our patients.

Through early identification and follow up, you’ll ensure we adhere to the early goal-directed therapy bundle elements (as developed by the Surviving Sepsis Campaign) in partnership with the healthcare team. You’ll coordinate with the bedside nurse to get the right care or extra information needed to rule out sepsis for those patients, including blood cultures and appropriate labs, and to prompt physicians to consider ordering antibiotics if necessary.

Related to education, you’ll

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational programs/projects for patients, staff members, and the community.
  • Communicate sepsis compliance with nursing and medical staff leadership to highlight and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant for educational programs throughout the Cedars-Sinai Health System.

You will represent the Medical Center at regional and national meetings or conferences as applicable.

Come explore all the ways Cedars-Sinai can benefit you and your career. Our salaries are very competitive—and we love to talk about how our benefits can help your family soar in the right direction. Let’s talk!
