JOB PURPOSE:

EOS IT is looking for a Wireless Network Operations Engineer with a passion for wireless technology and mobile solutions. In this position, you will support technology standards and policies for our customers global wireless infrastructure. You will work with the customers infrastructure operations team.

The role specifically involves working as a Wireless Network Operations Engineer as a point of escalation for operational issues and a technical expert for hardware deployment, supporting a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure for one of our global customers.

The role will be split between Wireless Operations/Escalations and New Hardware Deployments and Hardware Refreshes.

Hours: Mon – Fri 9:00am to 6:00pm and On-call shift rotation will be required for weekends also

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • You will have a bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • You will have 3-5 years’ experience deploying, configuring, supporting, solving problems, debugging and administering some of the following: Wireless Access Points, Wireless Client Association, Wireless Controllers, CSMA/CA, RTS, CTS protocols, RF transmission, Antennas, IEEE 802.11 standards, 802.1x Wi-Fi, 802.1Q Trunking, Ether channel.
  • Provide hands on experience with WLAN Security in the areas of authentication, encryption, IDS/IPS using Radius, AAA authentication, EAP, LEAP, PEAP, PSK, AES-CCMP encryption (AES- Counter w. CBC MAC Protocol), Wireless Sniffers, WEP encryption (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protocol Access), WPA2, Cisco controller and IOS based solutions.
  • Be a point of escalation for L1 & L2 Network Operations Engineers for Wireless Network relates problems and challenges (Trouble shooting and Triaging)
  • You will have experience with Cisco & Aruba Wireless.
  • Have an innate ability to identify the root cause and resolution for previously unknown problems.
  • Handle critical customer issues/problems with integrity and ease.
  • Be able to resolve problems and deliver known solutions with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an understanding of LAN Switching technologies (VLANs).
  • Provide technical support regarding the company’s proprietary systems and software, including training creation of intellectual property materials as required.
  • Provide top-level technical support for Wireless networks (both hardware and software) to customers, partners, account teams, and other TAC engineers via phone/email/Jabber consultation to independently troubleshoot & debug product problems.
  • Apply analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve product and network problems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Effectively utilize moderate to complex lab setups to recreate and solve problems.
  • Acting as a technical authority and providing support on a world-wide basis.
  • You will work with minimal supervision and no instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments
  • You will enjoy interacting internally with Snr architect and engineering staff

  • Working knowledge of Wireless Networking industry, products, and protocols.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience deploying, configuring, supporting, trouble shooting, debugging and administering some of the following Wireless LAN products, devices, and technologies for small, medium, large and/or enterprise businesses such as the following:
  • Wireless Access Points
  • Wireless Client Association
  • Wireless Controllers
  • CSMA/CA, RTS, CTS protocols
  • RF transmission
  • Antennas
  • IEEE 802.11 standards, 802.1x Wi-Fi
  • 1Q Trunking
  • Etherchannel
