Job Summary
This position will oversee the implementation, review, and continuous quality improvement of student assessment and evaluation for an innovative medical education curriculum.
Essential Duties
- Leads the process with the Educational Policies Curriculum Committee ( EPCC ) and Office of Medical Education in assessment tool development including standard setting, scoring rubrics, and metrics; works collaboratively with the Chairs of the EPCC Committee and its subcommittees.
- Directs teaching faculty and education coordinators on evaluation and assessment plans.
- Manages the entire evaluation process for the 4 year medical education program (60 students per year , 200 faculty at up 20-60 clinical sites
- Serves on COM committees as assigned; serves as a core member CQI advisory committee team to provide data and participate in the creation of assessment accreditation reports for the LCME and other accrediting agencies
- Helps develop measurable learning outcomes for the curriculum, courses, and the medical school’s goals
- Collects and develops all assessment materials, aggregated tests/quizzes, surveys, and evaluation instruments measuring the quality of the educational program and COM offices/services in collaboration with faculty and administrators
- Monitor and provide direction to medical education staff in the production, scoring, and analysis of the examinations given to medical students across the curriculum
- Develop policies and procedures to guide the evaluation and assessment experiences of the medical students across the college and implement periodic appraisal of their efficacy
- Oversee the design, construction and use of policies and procedures to gather, interpret, and present data associated with the performance of students, faculty, departments, and educational units to stakeholders and decision makers at all levels within the COM
- Plan and direct the evaluation of clinical sites that participate in one or more of the COM clerkship programs (i.e., Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Medicine, Neurology, OB/Gyn, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Surgery) across the college.

- Data Analyst(s).
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned (e.g., Support students in developing and administering the LCME required Independent Student Analysis ( ISA )).
Education
Required Qualifications
- PhD, EdD, or Masters-level with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in undergraduate medical education will also be considered. Focus in Educational Psych, Educational Assessment or Statistics, Evaluation, or related field.
Experience
- Experience with both quantitative and qualitative analytic data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Experience with continuous quality improvement with regards to program evaluation and accreditation.
- Experience creating clear reports and tracking.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
- Experience working with academic leadership, faculty, and committees
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of best practices in learner assessment strategies, development of assessment tools
- Proficiency and ability to manipulate data with MS Office products (Work, Power Point, Excel, Teams, and Access) including macros, external data connections, pivot tables, charts, and conditional formatting.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including staff and faculty from a variety of disciplines and administration.

Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of medical education scholarly activity/research along with skills utilizing statistical software, instructional delivery, and curriculum management packages is preferred
