Job Description

As the Senior Director, Site Reliability Engineering, you are responsible for leading and coordinating all systems and service needs across each one of our products. You are responsible for translating infrastructure strategy into tactical priorities and daily operations for our Site Reliability teams. You will assess operational capabilities and performance to ensure the delivery of quality products and services on time to all customers. You should excel at supporting Daxko’s daily operations and developing a strategic roadmap.

The Senior Director, Site Reliability Engineering reports to the Vice President, Site Reliability Engineering.

As a leader, you will also:

  • Manage leaders and individual contributors on the Site Reliability team
  • Build and sustain a culture of collaboration and teamwork to maintain a flow of information between key leaders and teams.
  • Act as Chief communicator- cascades regular communications.
  • Assess where gaps exist and develop skill sets.
  • Review processes and adjust to improve team efficiency.
  • Prioritize team members’ schedules by establishing meeting norms.
  • Collaborate with leaders of engineering and product to assure company alignment.
  • Be responsible for defining team roadmaps
  • Conduct performance reviews for the team.

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop operational/production goals, especially with respect to quality, performance, cost, and customer service.
  • Oversee storage, server, delivery pipelines, monitoring, alerting of all Daxko Infrastructure
  • Continue to drive the “make work visible” movement with dashboards and KPI-driven conversations with leadership
  • Anticipate needs and initiate development and implementation of new technology and approaches. Provide strategic direction for operations utilizing these new approaches.
  • Be responsible for uptime, data accuracy, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure operations are in full compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic leadership for Daxko’s production infrastructure.
  • Drive incident response sessions and RCA documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or similar field, or relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in leading database/storage techniques and technologies
  • 10+ years of experience in leading site reliability engineering techniques and technologies
  • 7+ years of incident resolution experience in a large-scale operations environment
  • Proven team leadership experience of a team of people
  • Experience leading Cloud (AWS, Azure) or traditional datacenter teams
  • Experience making data-driven decisions for teams and infrastructure
  • Strong technical operations background
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement in Daxko’s technical operations
  • Strategic Manager and Organizer
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
