Job Description

As the Vice President, Site Reliability Engineering, you are responsible for leading and coordinating all systems and service needs across all of Daxko’s products. You are responsible for developing site reliability strategies that meet Daxko priorities and daily operations needs. You will assess operational capabilities and performance to ensure the delivery of quality products and services on time to all customers. You will need to focus on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation.

The Vice President, Site Reliability Engineering reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

As a leader, you will also:

  • Manage the Site Reliability team (30+ team members), including leaders and individual contributors
  • Build and sustain a culture of collaboration and teamwork in order to maintain a flow of information between key leadership and teams across the company.
  • Act as Chief communicator – cascading regular communications.
  • Assess where gaps exist and develop skill sets.
  • Review processes and make adjustments to improve team efficiency.
  • Influence decisions made by being a member of the senior technology leadership team.
  • Be responsible for defining team roadmaps.
  • Be responsible for developing succession plans for key leaders and team members
  • Conduct performance reviews for the team.
  • Be a strong talent developer who provides their team opportunities for growth and development

Additionally, you will:

  • Engage with the team to ensure the success of operational/production goals and objectives, especially with respect to quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Anticipate needs and initiate development and implementation of new technology and approaches. Provide strategic direction for operations utilizing these new approaches.
  • Be responsible for uptime, data accuracy, and integrity.
  • Ensure operations are in full compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic leadership for Daxko’s production infrastructure
  • Be a collaborative leader who creates open channels of communication and encourages constructive dialogue between teams
  • Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure operations are in full compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive incident response sessions and RCA documentation
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility for production hosting and software licensing needs.
  • Travel up to 20%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or a similar field or relevant work experience
  • 15+ years of experience in leading database/storage techniques and technologies
  • 15+ years of experience in leading site reliability engineering techniques and technologies
  • 10+ years of incident resolution experience in a large-scale operations environment
  • Proven team leadership experience of a team of people
  • Experience leading Cloud (AWS, Azure) or traditional datacenter teams
  • Experience making data-driven decisions for teams and infrastructure
  • Proven success leading a globally distributed team.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members and team leaders
  • Excellent, transparent, and persuasive communication and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex information for non-technical audiences
  • A passion for continuous improvement; studying and introducing new software technology
  • Strong problem-solving, analysis skills, and impeccable business acumen
  • Strategic Manager and Organizer
