POSITION: IT Support Specialist DEPARTMENT: Operations/Facilities REPORTS TO: IT Manager FLSA STATUS: Non
– Exempt Summary: ASM Global the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opening for an IT Support Specialist at the Broward County Convention Center.
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting computer problems for employees, fulfilling new hardware, software, and peripheral requests.
The IT Support Specialist will also assist the IT Manager with event and other IT related duties.
Essential Duties Provide excellent customer service via telephone, mail or in person Participate with the day-to-day helpdesk support.
Coordinate and manage the basic entry level IT needs for all internal staff.
Provide technical support, resolve account and password problems, uninstall/install software, and assist with proper hardware and software setup Perform daily maintenance as needed on office computers, laptops, computer devices and cell phones.
Troubleshoot basic problems, computer systems, IP phones, printers and network issues.
Responsible for managing copy/print services, and configuring laptops, desktops and cell phones for internal staff.
Provide frontline event support for high-speed Internet customers, staff and guests at the Facility.
Required Qualifications Associate Degree preferred but not required.
1 to 2 years experience in a technical support role or similar support role is preferred.
Support collaboration services with OS Windows 10, iOS, Server 2012/2016/2019, Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) Relevant certifications CompTIA A, N, CCNA preferred.
Experience and competency with common operating systems and ability to guide staff and customers through pre-defined settings for troubleshooting.
Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of day-to-day tasks.
Be a self-starter and work unsupervised.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs during equipment move and setup.
Must have a flexible schedule, with ability to work weekends and holidays when necessary.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must possess strong organizational and troubleshooting skills; the ability to prioritize and multi-task is essential.
Strong customer service skills are required for interacting with clients and end users.
