Find whole-person care, dedicated teams and staff, and a wide variety of medical services, all at our hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.The role you’ll contribute:The Financial Counselor performs insurance verification, pre-certification, in-house follow-up and discharge, pre-registration, registration and collecting upfront cash for patients into Shawnee Mission Medical Center in a pleasant and accurate manner.

The financial counselor performs his/her duties by assisting and screening patient with the qualifications of the hospital’s financial assistance program.

The Financial Counselor performs follow-up on outstanding balances and self-pay accounts.

It also takes and processes payments from patients.The value you’ll bring to the team: Protects the legal and financial standing of the hospital by obtaining appropriate signatures on consent to treat forms and other required assignment of benefits forms, adhering to written policies and procedures.

Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.

Collects correct data from patients while pre-registering and registering.

Obtains eligibility for patients while pre-registering and registering Meets all pre-certification requirements according to insurance specifications Performs all follow-up that is required (copying of i.d.
