We hire and retain the industry’s brightest and most capable mortgage professionals.Role Reporting to the Director of Product Development and Investor Relations, the Product Development Manager will be instrumental in identifying and implementing new product opportunities that expand Academy Mortgages product portfolio.Essential Functions & Responsibilities Stay well informed of current product trends and emerging new products and features.Remain up to date on Agency and investor guidelines / requirements.Evaluate investor guidelines and pricing in order to identify product opportunities.Create and present product comparisons to Product Development stakeholders and make recommendations for future product initiatives and prioritization.Support new product releases by:Creating accurate new product set-up documentationLiaising between Academy Mortgage and the end investor to answer product set-up and guideline questionsProvide product benefits and talking points to Marketing / Communications and TrainingServe as a liaison between field, external customers and corporate departments.Design and present product specific training to sales.Create, maintain and distribute internal materials to identify unique selling points and watchouts for each product group.Identify and promote products and features that meet changing market conditions.Work with investors and Mortgage Insurance companies to gain the best terms and unique product variances.Respond to product scenario questions within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA)Monitor and report on product usage trends.Act as back-up to the Product Desk and Broker Support functions.Stand in for the Director of Product Development and Investor Relations when necessary.Other Functions and Responsibilities Answer phone calls and emails in a timely, professional manner.
Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.Understand changing priorities and adapt workflow to meet all deadlines.Take ownership over assigned projects, communicate effectively with necessary stakeholders in other departments and report on status of projects to management in a timely manner.Be a valuable team player who steps in to support other team members as necessary.Represent Academy in a professional manner during meetings with outside investors, vendors and partners.Job Qualifications Experience5 years’ experience working in a Mortgage Product Development role or similar with a comprehensive understanding of Agency and investor product guidelinesEducationBachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance or a related field is a plus, but not required.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWork involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.

This job will also require the ability to lift from the ground, boxed objects weighing up to 25 pounds.Work EnvironmentPosition will often be in a busy office environment or sometimes outside in all weather and temperature conditions.
