Senior Accounting Manager

Job Description Beacon Resources, in partnership with our international Financial Services client in Downtown Los Angeles, California, seeks a talented Senior Accounting Manager. Job The Senior Accounting Manager will maintain the day-to-day operations of active funds with exposure to accounting, financial reporting, investor relations, taxation, and other general accounting related business operations. You will record transactions for various private partnerships and accounts and report to all clients and managers. You will report to a Senior Vice President. Remote/Mixed/Onsite? The hired Senior Accounting Manager will work a mixed schedule (2 days/week remotely, 3 days/week in the office). Culture Our client has a professional culture, focused on business. DUTIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER Portfolio Accounting Generate detailed financial models, including the following: o Financial statements o Cash-flow projections on a historical and projected basis o Capital budgets o Fund models to project performance returns, investor performance, and cost impact (interest, operating expenses) o Waterfall distribution calculations o Interest calculations on debt held by the firm on each invested company Update valuation of each investment in a particular portfolio (FASB ASC 820 or old SFAS No. 157) to make sure each investment has proper fair value Update daily portfolio pricing Prepare reconciliations to each portfolio after each daily close Provide information for reporting funds metrics, debt compliance, and periodic deliverables metrics to various deal makers within the organization Provide quarterly accounting closing packages, periodic cash reconciliations, interest accruals, dashboard reporting, financial statements, capital contributions and/or distributions Communicate with investors and their advisors on each invested fund as necessary, including updating pitch books Manage performance reporting of funds General Ledger (G/L) Accounting Post monthly closing accruals Reconcile purchase and sale transactions Cash Management Keep an eye on banking activity Monitor all ingoing/outgoing cash transactions Miscellaneous Finance and Accounting Work with external auditors during each audit year Accept other ad-hoc accounting duties QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER Required At least six (6) years of prior work experience in Fund Accounting or Investment Accounting firms, OR at a Big 4 accounting firm with financial services clients Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent major Preferred CPA Previous audit experience at a public accounting firm Supervisory experience SKILLS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER Required Technical Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel (v-Lookups, Pivot Tables) Interpersonal Roll-Up-Your-Sleeves type of professional Superior oral and written skills Ability to work independently with little supervision Ability to juggle and prioritize tasks Conscientious attention to detail For further interest, submit your resume in MS Word format to me.
