Lets do this. Lets change the world! In this vital role you will hold a key position within the Commercial BD group in Global Marketing, Access and Capabilities (GMAC). The Commercial Business Development (BD) Forecasting and Analytics Lead will work across all therapeutic areas to develop data-driven and insightful commercial analyses in support of external licensing and acquisition opportunities. The successful candidate will work in teams within an established matrix organization, including the Commercial Business Development team, Global Marketing Therapeutic Area (TA) Heads, Therapeutic Area Groups, Global Value & Access Leads, Product Teams, Business Units, Global Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A), and the Corporate Business Development Team. The Sr. Manager will report to the Commercial Business Development Leader with informal connectivity to the CD&A forecasting group.
Key responsibilities:

Develop, in a team setting, and communicate commercial assessments of external opportunities.

Conduct desk research to gain a strong understanding of the market and product opportunity.

Generate insights from available data and develop forecast inputs in collaboration with the Commercial BD Directors.

Collaborate with CD&A, Global Value & Access, Center for Observational Research, Clinical R&D, Global Regulatory Affairs & Safety, Finance and other functions to enhance forecast inputs.

Leverage internal forecast models OR develop forecast models for external opportunities across all therapeutic areas, appropriate for the stage of the deal and consistent with internal forecasting standards. Models should reflect an understanding of disease area, unmet need, market trends and evolution, asset profile, competitive landscape and lifecycle programs.

Ensure consistency of regional forecasts and planning assumptions across global forecasts.

Demonstrate clear understanding of modeling assumptions, triangulate assumptions with other data and relevant forecasting models, and communicate rationale for choices.

Developing appropriate summaries that communicate the forecast assumptions, revenue forecast, appropriate scenarios, OpEx and units forecast.

Follow Amgen record keeping requirements and archiving of documents for BD analyses

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience
Or
Masters degree and 4 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 6 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (MS/MBA)
-
5+ years of forecasting, market research, and business analytics or consulting experience in the biopharmaceutical or other healthcare industries

Strong knowledge of and experience with forecasting methodologies, especially patient-based modeling, marketing analysis, advanced spreadsheets, modeling software and reporting software

Experience working with secondary data sets and analytic methodologies to gain insights applicable to forecasting

Working knowledge of commercialization process/product development, global access and reimbursement policies, and competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy

Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences including senior leadership teams

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills with ability to focus on key deliverables

Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment

Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions

Ability to anticipate potential barriers and develop proactive contingency plans

Ability to navigate ambiguity and remain flexible during unexpected changes

Ability to be assertive and request guidance when needed and/or call out key issues to the Commercial BD Leader or TA head
