Lets do this. Lets change the world. During this co-op, the student will:

  • Provide essential process development information for synthetics team by curating the data and verifying the data against the source.

  • Have opportunities to learn the overview of small molecule process development, including synthetic route history and sustainability metrics, and how the innovation and continuous improvements have impactedour pipeline programs through ATLAS Synthetics, an internally developed application that provides a comprehensive overview of synthetic molecules to support innovation and business continuity at Amgen.

  • Have opportunity to learn IS architecture and framework behind ATLAS synthetics to identify areas of improvement for the backend and frontend of the application.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older

  • Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

  • Enrolled in a full time Bachelors degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the co-op

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree concentration(s) in chemistry, chemical engineering, chemical biology, and/or biology

  • Familiar with chemistry tools such as ChemDraw, SciFinder, and Reaxys

  • Previous experiences in coding, data entry and analysis

  • Previous co-op or internship experience(s), especially in working with a cross functional team
