Service TechnicianIndependently performs complex on-site diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer agricultural and turf equipment.
May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.Reports to: Service Manager Position Classification: Non-ExemptSupervises: No One EEO-1: Craft WorkersResponsibilities:Performs complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and/or turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) productsParticipates in required Service EDUCATE Training programsSupports customer clinicsReviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work orderMay promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customersMay establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicleMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools and equipmentFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and material used in performing assigned dutiesMaintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all timesPerform other duties as assignedExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:3 years of experience performing on-site service repairsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresExpert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipmentAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to lift at least 75 lbs.
