Venice Family Clinic is seeking a Senior Accountant whose primaryresponsibility will be to assume a lead role in supporting the day-to-dayaccounting operations of the organization and to provide high level financialmanagement assistance to the managers and staff of the Clinic. The SeniorAccountant will monitor the application of accounting principles of activities,while playing a key role in the maintenance, integrity and accuracy of thegeneral ledger and reports. Primaryresponsibilities will include playing a lead role in the month-end closeprocess, banking, preparing and reviewing various monthly and annual financialstatements and reports, variance analyses, complex accounting and financialanalyses, audit support and operating budgets. The Senior Accountant will be aself-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to activelyparticipate in cross-functional teams on special projects, including financialsystems implementation and workflow improvements. The incumbent is expected to workindependently, using knowledge of overall organizational objectives to setpriorities, monitor workflow, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – Required.
7+ Years of progressive Accounting Experience- Required.
3+ Years of experience at a Federally Qualified HealthCenter- Required.
Experience with allocation methodologies acrossdepartments, units, locations and projects/grants- Required.
Knowledge of accounting administration for Federal Fundingand the OMB Super Circular- Required.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles- Required.
Highly detail oriented with strong, organizational,analytical and problem solving skills- Required.
Ability to work accurately with mathematical figures evenwith constant interruptions- Required.
Knowledge of computerized general ledger and accountspayable systems- Required.
Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, V-Look Upsand Logic Functions- Required.
Analytical skills to identify problems and formulatelogical and objective conclusions and recommendations- Required.
Ability to make fiscal projections based on historicaltrends, anticipated changes and/or goals- Required.
Excellent organizational and follow through skills,ability to multi task, prioritize and work under deadlines- Required.
Ability to work independently and as an active participantin a team environment- Required.
Must possess a keen attention to detail and a commitmentto high quality work- Required.
Knowledge of, or ability to, learn about public healthinsurance programs (Medi-Cal and Medicare- Required.
Dependable and adheres to Clinic’s attendance guidelines- Required.
Working knowledge of the UC system- Required.
