Scrum Master

Job Summary: Join our award-winning team onsite at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, VA and bring your knowledge of software practices to Amentum as a Scrum Master to the team.

Bring your emotional intelligence to bear on the latest research and development software engineering teams for DoD cutting-edge programs by managing product and software development teams as a servant leader, ensuring that teams follow Agile practices and adhere to the Scrum framework values.

In this role you will be:Managing timelines, resolving problems, and coaching team members on Agile methodologies.Creating self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints.Host meetings, track team progress, and note any obstacles that may keep the team from completing tasks.Ensure all team members are able to attend and participate in the daily meeting.Compensation & BenefitsHIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,900
– $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits’ package.

citizenship is requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain an interim secret/secret clearance prior to startBachelor’s Degree (in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or Related Field) and 4 years of industry experience in a technical capacity.Familiarity in definition and management of software requirements, design, code, benchmark testing, debugging, software development lifecycle, architecture, and documentationExperience in an Agile software development environment and methodologiesExperience working with customers in gathering requirements, writing, and documenting business processesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications: Scrum Master Certification or SAFe certificationStrong verbal communication skills and ability to work with peopleAtlassian JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab, C++, Python or other Agile tools and software environmentsActive Secret clearanceExperience managing projects following Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, and SAFeExperience managing multi-system projects and self-organized, cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environmentFamiliar with Agile values, principles, processes, and methods such as iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, code refactoring, pair programming, and Scrum ceremoniesModerate knowledge of the JIRA tracking tool
