Staff Accountant (L.A. LIVE)

Position

Summary:

The Staff Accountant performs accounting work in the generation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records related to LA Live Properties and other AEG entities. The position requires knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions to complete tasks. The Staff Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounts receivable as related to LA Live’s various events and sponsorship billings. This includes the calculation and collection of monthly billings, communicating with events and sponsorship teams, and performing ad-hoc accounting analyses and projects. This individual also performs monthly tasks related to the recording of work order revenue and various reconciliations. Further, this individual will be required to apply accounting knowledge to ensure proper coding and recording of various cost allocations, cash transactions, and other miscellaneous journal entries. This individual may also be asked to perform ad-hoc analyses and create spreadsheets and reports for management as necessary.

Essential Functions:

Compile, calculate, and prepare event settlements and related work. Act as a point of contact with event coordinators and assist in the reconciliation of the events and sponsorship groups’ A/R aging’s. Reconcile various general ledger accounts including cash, certain intercompany accounts, and others. Prepare and input journal entries and update month-end supporting schedules. Respond to vendor, events team, Global Partnership, and management inquiries on a timely basis.Prepare intercompany paydown files and review activity. Monitor intercompany paydowns, clear intercompany paydown account activity and record cash-related journal entries. Prepare various reports and analyses for management and other supportive duties (See below). May also be responsible for assisting management with creation and application of accounting policies and procedures for new or purchased entities, the maintenance of sponsor master files and general ledger within JD Edwards, monitoring receivable aging reports and collect outstanding receivables, creating supporting schedules for financial and budgetary activities, providing suggestions to management and supervisor on ways to implement efficiencies with daily processing and reporting activities, and implement as approved and preforming ad hoc projects as determined to be necessary to complete monthly and annual tasks.

Required

Qualifications:

A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in Business Management (Accounting preferred) 3 years of related work experience Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have excellent organizational skills with a hands-on approach to complete tasks Must have basic knowledge of accounting principles and theory (debits and credits, accrual accounting, matching principle, materiality, balance sheet versus P&L accounts, etc.) and able to put this theory into practice. Ability to multitask on various daily duties and ad-hoc assignments Ability to access and accurately input information using JD Edwards. Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal direct supervision. Ability to shift priorities considered necessary to accomplish prioritized tasks in a high-paced, results oriented environment Must be proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
