Provides medical assessements, treatments and transportation to all age groups, in and out fo the hospital settings through approved protocols or under the direction and/or supervision of physicians or registered nurses in support of the nuring vision Responsibilities Assesses, treats and provides transportation to patients according to established State Emergency Medical Services rules and regulations, State Model Protocols, and hospital policies and procedures, independently, collaboratively or under the supervision of paramedics, physicians, physician assistants, or registered nurses and according to the scopes of practice allowed by the State.

Provides, assists with or participates in education for team members and community.

Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner.

Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications Required: Posses a current EMT certification from the Bureau of Emergency and Trauma Services, Iowa Department of Public Health.

A current Type D (Chauffeur) Drivers License.

BLS certification.

Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must indicate Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
