In the department “Device Engineering –Hardware Systems ” at Roche Diabetes Care, insulin pumps and blood glucose meters and the associated components (sterile / non-sterile) and teststands are developed ready for series production in compliance with all relevant guidelines.

In the role as Senior Hardware Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for Electro-Mechanic Solutions and Simulations the following exciting challenges await you:You will take responsibility for the implementation of cross-disciplinary engineering work packages within medical development projects Within our agile development teams you will work and develop on complex engineering tasks for blood glucose measurement systems and sensors as well as insulin pumps and their consumable parts (sterile / non-sterile parts)You calculate, model and simulate mechatronic systems using state of the art analysis and simulation tools (performing partial and overall simulations)You will take responsibility for building up know-how in the field of simulations and help to anchor simulation(s) as an efficient and integral part of the development processes (e.g.

Digital Twin)You are responsible for the planning, execution, evaluation and documentation of cross-functional tests (i.e.

integration tests, DoE, design testing, robust testing, etc.)You optimize and verify the designs by use of mathematical and statistical methods and by use of simulationYou develop, elaborate and coordinate technical (interface-) specifications together with your team members from different departments (i.e.

mechanics, process development, electronics) as well as with external partners (design and manufacturing)Who you are:You convince through your social competence and communication skills and you can motivate your environment to always break new ground.

In addition, you bring the following skills and experience:University degree (preferably with a doctorate) in one of the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, biomedical engineering, microsystems technology, medical technology or similar.Professional experience in one of the mentioned disciplines and in the engineering of medical devices Experiences in the (electro-) mechanical design and manufacturing of sterile and non-sterile components You have a strong theoretical knowledge of the derivation of physical and mathematical relationships and know how to apply this knowledge pragmatically and practically into our solutions.You are proficient in the use of simulation and programming tools, especially for (electro-) mechanical issues (FEM simulation e.g.

Abacus; multiphysics simulation e.g.

COMSOL; numerical and mathematical simulation e.g.

Matlab/Simulink)You are familiar with analytical and statistical methods for process design and product improvement (Six-Sigma, Design for Six-Sigma, Design of Experiments)Furthermore you have experience in documentation in a regulated environment and Functional Safety (etc.

ISO13485, IEC 60601)You are characterized by a distinct analytical and interdisciplinary way of thinkingYou have a hands-on mentality and you are flexible and resilient Ideally you are familiar with agile working methodsYour very good written and spoken English skills complete your profileYou want to make a difference
