Overview Position Overview: MTSI is searching for a Journeyman Space Sensing Systems Engineer / Quality Assurance (Lead). This handpicked candidate will provide systems and integration engineering for the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) Resilient Warning, Missile Tracking, Missile Defense (MW/MT/MD) Delta program office. The SSC/SN mission is to deliver persistent space sensing for all-domain awareness to deter, defend, and win. Primary mission areas for the Resilient MW/MT/MD Delta are: resilient MW/MT space and ground; advanced technology innovation and prototyping, integration of Medium Earth Orbit and Low Earth Orbit capabilities; are Missile Warning/Tracking/Defense, Environmental Monitoring, and Persistent Tactical Surveillance. (MTSI) you will provide systems and integration engineering for the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing (SN) Resilient Warning, Missile Tracking, Missile Defense (MW/MT/MD) Delta program office. This position will be with USSF Space System Command located in El Segundo, CA. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: * You will work with mission stakeholders (USSPACECOM, USSF HQ and Components, Intelligence Community, MDA, etc.) to develop plans, program performance and verification activities, implementation, accreditation, and transition to operations.
* Design and implementation of short/long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems. * Establish, implement, and document the technology integration or migration strategies.
* Support quality assurance tasks (e.g., inspection planning and execution, in-process controls, workmanship requirements definition, failure analysis, parts de-rating, piece-part controls and methodologies, materials management, trade studies, tooling and facilities assessments, quality management planning and execution, subcontractor management, design reviews, risk management, proposal evaluations, waiver/deviation requests, vendor reviews, build or test article disposition, deficiency disposition and corrective actions). Qualifications * 5+ years’ of demonstrable experience with MAJCOM level organizations and processes to include a working level knowledge of requirements generation, PPBE and concept development.
* Recent experience performing Systems Engineering tasks for payloads and space vehicles.
* Experience performing QA for industry/DoD/IC acquisition.
* Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML/UML.
* Demonstrated ability to identify requirements issues and to propose recommendations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MagicDraw, DOORS, and other SE tools.
* Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, with attention to details, and team player.
Desired Requirements: * Prior experience working with SSC and related space systems.
Education Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related technical field.
Clearance Requirements: * Active TS/SCI Eligible clearance.
