Responsibilities We are seeking a mission-focused Engineering Technician to join our team in Los Angeles County, CA supporting our DOD customers as part of Arcfield’s Mission Maintenance Future Requirements (MMFR) Program. Arcfield’s MMFR contract provides support services and solutions within the SkyRange Program for ballistic and hypersonic test missions at DoD, NASA, and other agency ranges around the world including broad ocean areas. We deliver mission planning, logistics, network and systems engineering, telemetry, data and voice communications, and cybersecurity support. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a team responsible for deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and integrating range instrumentation systems to support our Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Army and Navy customers and meet mission objectives. We have a strong preference for someone experienced in cable harness assembly to include Mil-Spec cable and connector assembly. This position specifically include soldering, crimping and general cable assembly skills. Applicants must be able to read and follow detailed assembly instructions, interpret customer drawings and possess detailed measuring skills. The individual must be organized, attentive to details, and have the ability to complete tasks quickly and correctly. Additional job functions include: * Support local and off-site testing operations, including configure, operate, maintain and test computer-based electronic data reduction and telemetry equipment used to acquire, process and display flight-test data both in real-time and post-mission to support flight-testing. * Perform other technical functions as required, to include system installation, modifications, troubleshooting and corrective actions * Provides technical support to telemetry and network engineers on a variety of technical tasks to include troubleshooting problems encountered in the design and installation of flight test instrumentation * Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the testing, analysis and evaluation of materials and processes. * Performs installation, calibration, and operation of ground based and airborne telemetry receiving, recording, and processing systems * Traveling to support various types of UAV and Hypsersonics flight testing * Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics) * Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and records results. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma and 5+ years of directly related experience * Highly proficient in Mil-Spec cable and connector assembly * Experience providing technical support to engineers * Experience using standard tools to fabricate cables, install/modify hardware, etc. * Experience using standard test equipment, including but not limited to voltmeters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and bit error rate testers * Current Secret security clearance Desired Qualifications * Experience producing drawings using MS Visio and/or CAD tools such as Autocad™.
