We are actively seeking a highly qualified and motivated Scientist with a strong background in computational biology, multimodal single-cell omics, systems genomics, disease biology, and machine learning.

The scientist will join the Computational Biology group within the Amgen Center for Research Acceleration by Digital Innovation (CRADI).

CRADI is a multi-disciplinary effort embedded within our drug discovery engine that continually uses advancement in genetics, genomics, proteomics, disease modeling, and computational biology to accelerate our pipeline from target inception through drug development.

This position will involve close collaboration with scientists within the Amgen Oncology and Inflammation therapeutic areas.

In this vital role you will develop research strategies and analyze diverse data sources to identify and validate drug targets through the intersection of novel insights in disease pathogenesis with new opportunities arising from emerging drug modality and omics technologies.

The position requires a research-oriented mentality and broad computational biology skills, with particular emphasis on proficiency with multimodal single-cell data analysis.

An ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues from different fields will be essential.

The successful candidate will have a track record of innovative and collaborative research demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications.

Responsibilities associated with the role include but are not limited to: Work collaboratively with therapeutic area scientists to design and analyze multi-omics studies to advance and replenish the Amgen therapeutic pipeline.

Leverage ground breaking multimodal single-cell technologies and analytic techniques to generate insights on disease biology, target mechanism of action, and expression distribution.

Work collaboratively with external academic, biotechnology, and contract research organizations Identify and assist with management of high-value internal and external high-value datasets to enhance our multi-omics data platform.

Collaborate with our research informatics department to develop tools that automate common data processing and visualization tasks.

Monitor, review and critically interpret published computational research spanning prioritized disease areas and technologies.

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree Or Masters degree and 4 years of computational biology, bioinformatics, or data science Or Bachelors degree and 6 years of computational biology, bioinformatics, or data science Preferred Qualifications: PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or data science including industry/pharma research experience Experience with manipulation, interpretation, and innovative analysis of multi-omic biological datasets, including their application to research related to human disease and drug discovery Fluency in R/Python analytic techniques necessary for data analyses, with particular emphasis on single-cell data analysis Experience working with cloud computing environment and data management Strong publication record of novel discovery or innovation Proven record of innovative thinking to propose and champion new ideas and solve problems Strong interpersonal, collaborative, organizational, and presentation skills Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment Thrive Some of the vast rewards of working here As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being.
