Enterprise Architect

Title: Enterprise Architect Location: Los Angeles, CA / Remote Ekman Associates, Inc. is a management consulting firm that specializes in developing business, digital, and technology strategy, delivering solutions, and addressing human resource demands. Summary: The Enterprise Architect role reports to IT Director, Strategy & Architecture and is responsible for defining and maintaining ITarchitecture principles, methodology and techniques, standards and best practices. The Enterprise Architect will work to ensure conformance with established IT architectural blueprints and plans in a constructive, collaborative environment with business areas, project development teams, and technology services. This position requires experience in IT infrastructure and deployment, applications design and development, and data definition and management. The individual should also be well versed on integrated solutions, IT architecture analysis, solution design, testing technology research, and have strongbusiness communication skillsResponsibilities: Develop and maintain overall technical architecture roadmap Develop and maintain application architecture models for IT enabled solutions to meet businessrequirements in collaboration with business process engineers, business analysts, projectdevelopment teams, and other team members. Develop and evaluate multiple alternative designs within the constraints of established standards and technology platforms, available skill sets, and resource constraints. Identify and recommend new/reuse architecture building blocks such as reusable components/services and frameworks. Defining the service interface specifications for new building blocks. Evaluate COTS products for ability to meet business requirements, conformance to established application security, interoperability standards, and alignment with enterprise architecture roadmap. Serve as a subject matter expert for project requirements, IT architectural framework, methods andtools. Assist in creation of SOA standards & governance policies for the operational models around data integration and established modeling. Ensure project design is aligned with standards and best practices. Create business process definitions and data flow processes. Keep up with technology trends; research, analyze, recommend and assist in implementing new technologies, standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensure compliance to IT architecture blueprints via established governance and control mechanisms and processes. Perform project design reviews, code reviews, and testing reviews to ensure compliance with architecture principles and standards. Re-engineer legacy application systems in alignment with the target IT architecture roadmapwithin the context of business, product, and project roadmaps and assist in the development of migration plans. Ensure application designs are in alignment with the IT architecture roadmap, meets business requirements, and non-functional requirements such as reliability, availability, quality of service, flexibility, performance and scalability. Communicate IT architectural vision using models with multiple viewpoints for different stakeholders. Provide IT architecture design and consulting for project teams. Collaborate with business and projectmanagers in identifying architecturally significant elements, prioritizing, and building project management and risk management plans from an architectural perspective. Design RESTful API integration using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). Architect and design high volume integrations using IICS. Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies. Work to ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.) in all aspects of data utilization and information access and protection. Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, InformationSystems/Technology or related field preferred 10+ years of information systems and business/industry experience with increasing levels ofresponsibility including: IT architecture/system analysis, design, and development experience in infrastructure,applications, integration, and data architecture Application development and support of custom systems and package software Working with Microsoft development platform and technologies (VB6, .net, C#, SQLserver, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint, Azure DevOps and SQL Server ManagementStudio.) Knowledge of various architectural platforms including hardware, software, and network communication components and how constraints effect development and operations ofsystems. Enterprise Architecture methodologies and frameworks; preference given for TOGAF. Experience with SOA, SAAS, Cloud, Networking, HA, Converged Systems, Custom Application, andintegrated software environments. Experience with both waterfall and agile development methodologies. Experience with one or more of the following environments: Application Service Provider (ASP) Managed Services Providers (MSP) Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications Custom developed applications Object Oriented Analysis and Design methodologies; Service Oriented Architecture concepts and design principles and patterns. Sufficient breadth in programming languages, development and deployment platforms andtechnologies, infrastructure components to evaluate technology alternatives, trends, andtrade-offs. Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server. Experience with IT infrastructure and middleware components and their services – load balancers, web servers (BigIP, IIS and ISAPI filters, Apache, Tomcat), application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, Websphere, etc.) Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and integrating it w ithother applications such as Vitech V3, QNXT, MS Dynamics 365 CRM. Experience with Angular Js, Xamarin, WCF, MVC and ASP.NET. Experience modeling complex business processes and translating them into understandable ITconstructsusingUML. Full system development life-cycle experience with software/application development that includes: Multiple languages and platforms Enterprise-scale multi-tier applications and web applications Design, development, and deployment of components, services, and frameworks Knowledge and experience with different development methodologies such as RUP, UP andAgile development methodologies such as XP and Scrum. Knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies and frameworks such as TOGAF,Zachman, FEAF, etc. Knowledge of industry standards and technologies related to XML and web services (SOAP, WS-I). Knowledge of relational database technology, data integrity and distribution, canonical data models design and the architectural significance for application and data architecture. Experience working within a Service-Oriented Architecture. Experience with portal technologies. Experience or knowledge in the following areas is highly preferred: QNXT Health Eligibility Insurance Claims Processing Cloud Technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, etc.) Demonstrated success leading small, medium, and large scale projects through the software development life cycle. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as establish strong partnership with customers, associates, leadership, and vendors. Ability to influence others through discussion of strategies and sharing of technical information.
