Accountable to the overall New Product Introduction (NPI) process and to internal business team.
Leads a dedicated cross-functional team of NPI experts in Project Transition Management, Planning, Procurement, Change Management and First Article Manufacturing.
Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and day-day today management of a cross-functional NPI team.NPI Manager is responsible to develop the processes by which the NPI Team operates.Ensures smooth transition from prototype to production.
Supporting the SCM team with all technical issues that arise relative to purchased materials during the NPI phase.
Most of the time is spent developing plans, conducting activities or reviewing different levels of BOM of electronic assemblies.
Responsible for providing technical advice to the CFT Manager and with customers to facilitate planning, determine technical direction or solve technical problems.
Works with other Celestica sites to standardize dealing with both the customer and suppliers using common processes and practices.Detailed Description:Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:Responsible for the interaction between the CFT and customer and understanding the customer’s technical roadmap.
Identifying and managing all new customer-specific process development projects.
Understands and influences customer’s technical requirements.
Identifies and manages all new customer-specific process development projects.
Owns the development schedule.
Interacts with the customer on DFM/DFT input with the goal of reducing manufacturing cost and improving quality and reliability of product.
Provides yield, reliability and cost comparisons of various options.
Identifies and implements opportunities to reduce manufacturing complexity.
Ensures accurate and timely communication to management on critical technical and business issues.
Works with cost engineers developing models to estimate resource requirements and costs.
Acts as program manager for the introduction of new processes, new products or new equipment.
Evaluates alternatives and implements solutions.
Supports the marketing function by presenting company technological capabilities and roadmapsParticipates in customer audits and supports customer tours.Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:SAP foundation and Prototype Management.Proficient in spoken and written EnglishExcellent communication skills and Negotiation Skill;Experienced in New Product IntroductionExperience in Basic Finance and Accounting principlesPhysical Demands:Incumbent will perform the duties of this position in a normal office environment.Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.May require occasional travel.Typical Experience:Ten years’ relevant experience or above.Typical Education:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Management Studies or equivalentProject management certification desired.Celestica is an equal opportunity employer.
