Patient Account Representative (Collections)

Description We are looking for a full-time Patient Account Representative to join the Starlite Recovery Team For 65 years, Starlite Recovery Center has been providing adult and adolescent clients in the heart of the Hill Country in Center Point, Texas, with caring and highly effective drug rehab for substance abuse, alcohol addiction, and co-occurring issues.

Join a team with defined career paths and a national family of hospitals and facilities as part of the Acadia Healthcare family JOB DUTIES: Responsible for billing claims in SSI (billing software) and collection follow up in SMS/Medhost on a daily basis.

Call and status outstanding claims with third party payors.

Review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill.

Utilize claims clearing house to review and correct claims.

Resubmit electronically when available.

Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly.

Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation.

Manage daily productivity via patient accounting system and productivity reports.

Needs to maintain an average of 30-40 accounts worked per day minimum.

Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class.

Report an overview of the week to the BOD and participate in AR meetings.

Gather and interpret data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.

Participates in back-up pool for front desk receptionist.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

SCHEDULE: Monday
– Friday 8:00am-4:30pm / 8:30am
– 5pm EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Three or more years’ prior billing and collections experience in a hospital setting required.

Recovery experience preferred.

HMS/Medhost patient account system a plus.
