Product Owner – Store Systems (Remote)

Career Description Job Description Advance Auto Parts is leading retailer and distributor of automotive aftermarket products to Do it Yourself (DIY) and professional customers. The AAP store footprint encompasses two Point of Sale (POS) systems and is made up of each company stores managed and operated by AAP team members and independent stores, owned and operated by independent store partners under the Carquest brand. The Product Owner is a line of business team member with a retail / store operations background who functions as a product owner and is responsible for the vision and roadmap for the Exploris (POS) application used by the Carquest brand. In this capacity the product manager is responsible for developing deep knowledge of Carquest store day-to-day operations and directly engaging with independent store partners to develop a vision and supporting release roadmap of improvements to the Exploris application; complete with measurable performance metrics and return on investment. This Product Owner will then partner with IT to drive implementation of that roadmap and with field team members and customers to measure impact afterwards. The Product Owner supports the Director of Store Systems on overall point of sale strategy and partners with the Product Owner peers on issues impacting both point of sale applications. This person needs to demonstrated ability in Product Management; strong communication, presentation, and financial skills; and embodies the cultural believes of Take Action, Be Accountable, and Speak Up. Duties and Responsibilities Understand and map the current point of sale, store management, and store sales system landscape, including interactions with applications by functional area Define the limitations with current landscape and prioritize the replacement roadmap to ensure business continuity and maximum business value Conduct store operation process analyses, needs assessments, problem analyses, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align store management, store sales, and point of sale solutions with business initiatives & corporate strategy Solicits, develops, documents and manages requirements and provide detailed design and business processes to support the requirements throughout the project life cycle up to and through change control Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment Oversee the creation, review & delivery of end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, and training materials) and training for accuracy Serve as the Product Owner for store management, store sales, and point sale systems within an agile development methodology Select and create appropriate scenarios to test all results to determine whether system changes met project specifications Provide expert input on current and best in class store operations and sales practices Provides senior business leaders information, advice, and engages with the business to understand and influence solutions for store management, store sales, and point of sale functions Develops relations with business to cultivate trust and that encourages business leaders to seek their advice and helps guide decisions Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of retail management experience -preferably in the automotive industry Skills & Knowledge: Expert Knowledge of system development methodology, project management, analytical/problem solving skills and relevant development and technology skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Develops advanced/leading-edge technologies and/or concepts Creatively and strategically supports key business objectives. Develops innovative solutions, systems and products to support company objectives Builds external alliances with customers and industry experts to gain and share information and industry trends Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors Work on applications and business problems that are highly complex and diverse in scope and may include and project size, multiple applications, multiple I/T segments, contractors, global rollout, new technologies, new architectures Provides senior business leaders information, advice, and engages with the business to understand and influence technology and process solutionsLanguage and Communication Skills: Must possess excellent facilitation and communication skills, and able to adapt to the level and nature of their audience #LI-AM1
