Overview: Older Adults Technology Services from AARP (OATS) advocates for technology inclusion for the 50-plus, providing digital literacy training and programming to older adults.

With nearly two decades of experience and insights on how older people interact with technology as well as its flagship programs like Senior Planet, OATS uses its resources to create world-class programs that form the basis for systems change.The Director, Finance, Grants & Operations will oversee a set of budget planning and accounting functions critical to the continued growth of the organization.

The position will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and integrity of a growing nonprofit affiliate of AARP, expanding our scale across geographic and virtual platforms.

The role will work within a multidisciplinary team of administration, finance and project management professionals.

Responsibilities: Lead annual budgeting, planning and forecasting process, including multi-year plans and monitor progress against budget and key benchmarks.

Work with departments and team leads to accurately predict revenue and expense projections associated with various organization functions.

Work closely with project teams to anticipate and help execute spending plans.Lead financial modeling and strategy for a growing suite of fee-for-service products and services developed and delivered in support of mission.

Conduct cost/price analysis and other predictive modeling to inform budget projections.Prepare and oversee annual cost allocation plan in connection with various government and private restricted funders.

Adjust plans throughout the year as needed.Collaborate with AARP accounting staff to prepare the necessary documentation to support the annual audit, 990 and other mandatory reporting requirements.Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and present financial reports to senior leadership team.Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded.Liaise with AARP Controllers Office and Financial Planning and Analysis teams as necessary.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline from an accredited college or university, an MBA and/or CPA certification is preferred.8 years of related professional and progressive experience in accounting, financial planning, reporting, analysis and making actionable recommendations to senior leaders.Strategic thinker who possesses solid business acumen and is able to organize and manage multiple priorities.Strong written and oral presentation skills; ability to tell the story behind the numbers.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills facilitate management of team members and support senior leadership in efficiently making business decisions.High level of accountability, accuracy and efficiency, especially while handling multiple tasks.This is an in-office position and the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise is required.Demonstrated verbal communication skills required.Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions.
