Security Awareness Lead – (B4)

Introduction Applied is seeking an Information Security Awareness Lead / Communications manager in the US to be part of its global Information Security and Risk management team and drive security awareness.

The goal is to help make Applied the safest choice for our customers, suppliers, and employees through timely, relevant, and ongoing information security awareness.

The Security awareness lead / communications manager will report to a Director of Information Security Role and responsibilities Lead and manage Applieds Information Security awareness including developing, reviewing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing awareness initiatives, campaigns, and training.

Create and edit marketing communications collaterals in support of security awareness emails, how-to articles, presentations, training Manage an internal communications portal Keep an eye on evolving cybersecurity threat landscape and create impactful awareness content to communicate the key human risks in a timely manner.

Engage the workforce to focus and change behaviors through positive messaging.

Plan, create, and manage a metrics framework to measure employee compliance with information security policies and drive effectiveness.

Partner closely with business unit stakeholders and related risk functions to build and execute awareness meeting regulatory and compliance standards.

Partner closely with other communications functions including the IT communications lead and corporate communications.

Promote Information Security policies, products, and services.

Ensure workforce and third parties understand information security policies and acknowledge their importance and adherence.

Encourage the workforce to engage with security broadly and adopt a security mindset; move them beyond compliance with policies for adoption.

Develop a positive program that engages employees, to include focusing on changing behaviors both at home and at work.

Ensure our employees demonstrate the same secure behavior regardless of where they are or the devices they are using.

Create a metrics framework that can effectively measure these requirements Education and experience Bachelors or masters degree in Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or relevant field 8 years of relevant work experience Experience in designing instructional content for awareness, training, and delivery to a global audience Proven expertise in creativity and innovation in presenting ideas and storytelling Ability to multi-task and program manage the multiple projects from launch and closure Ability to partner with and manage external vendors Report to management on awareness plan, deliverables, and execution Develop business acumen and learning processes and technology Astute in using Microsoft collaboration tools and leveraging other technologies for content creation and delivery using multiple channels Skills Understanding of the concepts of information risks and the different elements that make up risk.

In addition, have at a minimum a basic understanding of the different concepts of information security Ability to translate complex security risk issues to concise and practical content for effective guidance to drive actions Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision Ability to partner and collaborate with business functions at all levels of management Be customer focused on efficiency, prioritization, and quality delivery Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Proven ability to perform effectively in a changing environment Strong writing skills ability to create and edit compelling content for a variety of internal and external audiences.

Effective visual communication skills the role does not need to be a graphic designer but should be able to create effective presentations and manage design resources for compelling visual content.
