What You’ll get to Do: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

A Systems Engineer in this business area is responsible for working with a broad customer base to identify unique requirements, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse team to build and test those inertial systems.

The systems engineer is the technical lead and point of contact to the customer.

Expected duties include: Presenting to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.

Generating, reviewing, and managing multiple requirement sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, and reliability.

Awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables.

Leading a team of subsystem engineers and subject matter experts to ensure the designs are sufficient to meet the system requirements.

Working with integration and test engineers to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction scripts.

Providing test direction to ensure production tests and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements.

Develop simulation models for sensors and systems.

Essential Functions: Conduct successful architectural modeling and design experience and knowledge of vehicle control systems focused on automated control of manned vehicles, flight management (FMS) and flight director systems and preferably all aspects of vehicle control from starting point through destination (i.e.

take-off through landing).

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the capabilities, limitations and design philosophy of systems involved in the control of manned aircraft including related subsystems, equipment, equipment suppliers, failure modes, and design, simulation, test and integration, and verification methods and tools.

Use SCADE and MATLAB Simulink design modeling tools and with airworthiness criteria and certification.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 0 years of relevant experience Active DoD Secret Clearance Strong requirement development and management skills using DOORS Demonstrated team leadership skills Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to team members, customers, and suppliers Ability to work onsite full-time Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in STEM related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD Active DoD Secret Clearance Strong requirement development and management skills using DOORS Demonstrated team leadership skills Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to team members, customers, and suppliers Ability to work onsite full-time Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity of electrical and communication interfaces standards (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422) Familiarity with programs or projects in a production phase Experience developing products for space environments Experience managing electronic system requirements and requirement verification Strong requirement development and management skills using MBSE Familiarity with inertial measurement sensors and systems Strong data analysis skills using Matlab Salary Range: $82,400.00
– $123,600.00Salary Range 2: $101,400.00
– $152,200.00 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay.
