Business Development Officer – VP

Job Summary and Opportunity

The Business Development Officer is a critical component in the Commercial Bank business development strategy. Responsible for managing a portfolio of qualified middle market business prospects with annual sales between $10MM-$750MM. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of qualified middle market business prospects with annual sales between $10MM-$750MM
  • Identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities; coordinating business generation activities; developing customized targeted sales strategies
  • BDO is responsible for generating leads and developing new opportunities for both lending and deposit growth goals
  • Schedule appointments with qualified business prospects on behalf of Commercial Bank Managers & Relationship Managers
  • Research and evaluate prospective businesses for long-term financial viability and consistency with company credit policies and objectives
  • Sell all Axos Bank products and ensure quarterly contact with C-level executives
  • Identify, analyze, qualify and manage Commercial Bank Prospects with revenues in excess of $10 million
  • Converting prospects into qualified referrals to Relationship Managers to solicit the business and close relationships
  • Develop and grow a strategic program for assigned territories (In-Market, Adjacent States and Out of Footprint initiatives)

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ cold calling experience; previous experience in an outbound call center, inside sales experience, or related sales experience; knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
  • Salesforce or CRM
  • Lead generation and prospect management
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • Professionally and confidently communicates with C-Level Executives
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent job experience
