Please continue YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SUCCESS: Under the direction of the Dental Director the Staff Dentist is responsible for the delivery of dental services to patients living with HIV/AIDS.

The Staff Dentist obtains a brief health history on patients, including but not limited to their current medication combination, CD4 count and viral load.

Acts as a patient advocate and performs those duties necessary to provide quality care as reflected in the mission of AHF.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Begins assigned clinics on timeWorks with the Dental Director to supervise Dental Assistants and office staffResponsible for the delivery of all phases of General Dentistry including routineprophylaxis, patient education, amalgam and composite restorations, fixed and removableprosthodontics, simple exodontia and endodontia.Demonstrates sound infection control procedures and technique processing and sterilizinginstruments, set-up, breakdown and disinfect clinical areasCoordinates specialty referrals for patients needing services above and beyond the scopeof care delivered in the clinic to help ensure optimal oral health for the patientsWorks closely with Dental staff to ensure quality patient care is providedEducation and/or Experience: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Current California State Dental license DEA furnishing license without restrictions Valid CPR Card Certification is required Valid driver’s license with proof of liability insurance.

Minimum 3 years dental experience working in a HIV/AIDS related clinical environment, preferred Other Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable
• Sensitivity to the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS
