Director of Organizational Culture, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: 36202 Salary: $5,558 – $14,225 monthly Position Description: The UCLA Library is excited to welcome applications and nominations for the position of Director of Organizational Culture, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) for the UCLA Library. The newly established position of Director of Organizational Culture, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion leads the development of new policies and practices to build, sustain, and further a culture of empathy, transparency, collaboration, and conversation. With strong support from the Library’s senior leadership and across the UCLA Library, the Director will position EDI and community-building in the Library’s culture, and will provide leadership for anti-racism efforts that span all aspects of the library. This position leads the Library’s strategic priorities to transform its culture into one that centers community-building, equity, diversity, and respect in order to empower all staff to contribute effectively and meaningfully. The Director is responsible for organizational and programmatic initiatives through the development of policies and procedures in collaboration with the Library’s Anti-Racism Initiative, Library EDI Committee, and two Library Equity Advisors. This position will supervise one FTE. The Director will lead and coordinate efforts to collect and utilize data, including demographic data, to inform actions and policies. The Director will work collaboratively with Library Human Resources, UCLA’s Civil Rights Office, administration and managers to address issues of racism, sexism, and inequities in UCLA Library practices including recruitment, retention, equitable compensation, and professional development and training. The Director will work closely with Library Human Resources, Library Communications and Marketing, and Library Development to expand and refine strategies to promote and advance EDI. The Director will lead UCLA Library accessibility efforts and will strategize with campus partners in the Office of Students with Disabilities, UCLA Disabilities Computing, and other stakeholders. The Director will contribute expert knowledge and skills to advance EDI and collaborate with a vibrant and supportive community of EDI and anti-racism practitioners, equity advisors and other relevant positions at UCLA and in regional, statewide and national organizations in order to build a culture of inclusion and innovation. The UCLA Library is a campus-wide network of libraries serving the full range of teaching and research activities at UCLA.
