A plaintiff’s civil litigation law firm seeks a motivated and independent, litigation attorney. We are looking for an associate to join our team to support a senior attorney, whose caseload consists primarily of sexual harassment, employment, and sexual assault cases. The position involves direct client work with sensitive populations, discovery, depositions, and regular court appearances. We offer a flexible work environment and our office is entirely remote. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate looking for independent work and the opportunity to take initiative and grow their skills.
ABILITY to:
- Work independently on an active litigation caseload of approximately 30 cases.
- Propound and respond to written discovery.
- Draft and respond to pleadings and pre-trial motions, including demurrers, Motions to Quash, Oppositions to Motions for Summary Judgement, Motions to Compel, etc.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Second chair trials and arbitrations.
- Work effectively in a remote work environment.
REQUIRED Skills:
- Clear communication skills, including ability to listen and pro-actively address issues.
- Ability to prioritize litigation workload and flexibility in managing time.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a sense of humor.
- Excellent written and organizational skills.
- 2 to 5 years’ litigation experience, preferably experience as plaintiff-side attorney either in employment, personal injury, or sexual abuse.
PREFFERRED Skills:
- Experience taking and defending depositions, arguing motions.
- Substantive knowledge in childhood abuse law, malpractice, insurance issues, and/or employment law.
