Our mission is achieved through value-driven, scholarly and creative social work education, research, and professional leadership.The Office of Research Administration (ORA) of the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work is seeking anAssociate Research Administratorto join its team.

ORA supports and advances the school’s research mission by providing expertise in research administration and by ensuring compliance with USC and sponsor regulations.

ORA has responsibility for sponsored programs across the entire lifecycle of the portfolio for all the awards belonging to the school.The ideal candidate will have experience managing a diverse portfolio of federal and non-federal awards independently.

The candidate should have a high degree of proficiency in research administration and governmental regulations with the ability to maintain outstanding customer service and high attention to detail while meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.Core position duties include:+ Administering all facets of post-award grant implementation; working closely with the faculty and serving as primary liaison and active partner between the faculty and the Office of Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA), Department of Contracts and Grants (DCG), Office of Compliance (OOC) and Office of Financial Analysis (OFA) to ensure awards are set up properly, cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled, and appropriate compliance controls are in place.+ Monitoring and auditing account activities on a monthly basis to ensure that all grant expenditures are in alignment with approved scope of work, charged appropriately and in compliance with OMB regulations and agency terms and conditions; proactively pursuing corrective action when needed.+ Developing, customizing and updating expenditure and financial projections and trend analysis to assist the faculty with planning their grant expenditures and the school management with forecasting indirect costs recovery.+ Managing sub-recipient monitoring tasks, including setting up outgoing sub-awards for assigned awards, compiling appropriate documents to submit sub-award amendments, tracking awardees’ burn rate and invoicing frequency, reaching out to awardees regarding delinquent invoices, reviewing invoices for compliance with approved budgets, collecting required documents from sub-recipients for progress reports and performing sub-award closeout processes.+ Coordinating the award closeout process and ensure all fiscal and non-financial reporting requirements are met.+ Compiling data and documentation needed for institutional compliance requirements, audits and sponsor inquiries.+ Verifying funding availability for grant supported personnel requests.

Processing and reconciling grant payroll, payroll accounting adjustments, and effort certifications.+ Providing feedback regarding workflow for process improvements.

Participating in cross training of administrative staff who assist with account reconciliation.+ Assisting faculty with submission of proposals and progress reports as needed, including developing project budgets and getting internal approvals.+ Performing other job duties as assigned.Required Documents:+ Resume and cover letter required (may be uploaded as one file).
