Bartender

guests at the bar and in the restaurant in a timely, accurate, courteous and friendly manner. Helping

guests be aware of and choose menu items, taking orders and making guests feel taken care of during

their visit.

• Welcome guests, read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, inform guests re new drinks.

• Check identification to ensure guests are the legal age to purchase alcohol.

• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to guests and servers for guests

  according to standard specs

• Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into POS, maintaining any tabs

  throughout shift

• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar

• Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere

• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

• Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established

  procedures

• Prepare checks and process payments from customers: cash, credit, and debit card transactions,

  ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to guests, balancing the cash register at

  start and close of each shift.

• Clear and resets tables in bar area.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, glassware,

  utensils, equipment, shelves, trash and storage areas.

• Adhere to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate

  dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.

• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink

  preparation and promotion of beverages.

• Maintain supply and store all fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to

  ensure product quality

• Assist in receiving deliveries

• Requisition and stock of all beer, wine, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, paper products, straws

  and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily sheet

• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Bar Manager

• Lock up and store all beverages, food, and other equipment items

• Ensure smooth operation of bar services during absence of Bar Manager

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• minimum age requirement of 21 years

• Minimum two (2) years of bartending experience

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.

• Basic math and computer skills

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Reliable, honest, self-motivated

• Strong task and time management abilities.

• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs.

• Familiar with Aloha point-of-sale

• Comfortable using a computer, navigating Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook email

  Skills:

• Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
