Job Description NORTH LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL CENTER CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION PSYCHOLOGIST The Organization North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults. SUPERVISION : Receives general supervision from the Manager, Clinical Services or the Clinical Team Supervisor. The Position and Job Summary Provide psychological assessment or evaluation services to Agency consumers. Evaluate consumers or potential consumers, performing interviews, tests, and record reviews, make eligibility or program recommendations. Participate in multidisciplinary staffings and meetings. Provide consultation to staff on consumer services issues and serve as liaison to outside agencies, as assigned. Assist in problem resolution with outside agencies or service providers. Create and maintain accurate consumer records, using a variety of tracking systems. Employment Standards Any combination equivalent to or likely to provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: A Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in psychology, counseling, education, or a related field from an APA-accredited program and licensure by the California Board of Psychology. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience providing testing, diagnostic evaluation, service recommendation, and consultation to people with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, or emotional disturbances; their families; and service providers. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of developmental disabilities; mental illness; assessment of all ages; treatment options; laws, ethical standards, and regulations pertaining to service delivery and the practice of psychology. All aspects of psychological testing. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and assume responsibility for complex tasks. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures. Essential Requirements A valid California Driver’s License and transportation, or acceptable substitute, is required. Regular Salary: $34.20 – $38.64 per hour, plus $69.24 per bi-weekly pay period for bilingual services, if applicable.
