Job Overview:
Under the general guidance of the Director of Admissions, the admissions counselor oversees all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process.

The admissions counselor leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of the Office of Admissions and the institution.  Supports culture development and management efforts.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
At least 1-3 years of experience in an admissions, higher education, or sales environment; experience in graduate admissions is highly preferred.
Certifications/Licenses: 
Ability to access or rent a car and/or a valid U.S.

driver’s license

Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills; professional and friendly in-person and on the phone
Demonstrated success in a goal-oriented environment
Ability to travel to off-campus events as needed.

These events require the ability to physically transport materials, set-up admissions display and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to exercise initiative as a critical member of a team and to work independently with high efficiency and productivity
Ability to work evenings and weekends

Travel Requirements:  Approximately 10% travel;  Ability to travel to off-campus events as needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responds to admissions inquiries via phone and email
Responds to applicants regarding their application and materials submitted
Represents Adler University at on-campus and online events as well as off-campus recruiting events such as college fairs and conferences; giving campus tours; and advising applicants.
Assists with all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process
Telecounsels prospective students to encourage campus visits as well as apply for admission
Maintains a high call volume schedule to consistently meet performance goals
Maintains appropriate follow-up communication with these students regarding the status of their applications for admission and financial aid.
Represents Adler University during recruitment season at off-campus events such as college fairs, conferences, and classroom visits
Represents Adler University at on-campus and online open houses, information sessions, individual advisement sessions and interview days
Performs consistently to meet performance goals
Advises applicants throughout their admission process from inquiry through registration and the first day of classes.
Maintains full knowledge of Adler University’s institutes, programs and curricula
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Work Environment (Physical Demands):  The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity.

Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
