Description
POSITION: Los Feliz Screener
STATUS: Non-exempt; Temporary Full time
REPORTS TO: Assistant Nurse Manager
SUPERVISES: None
DEPARTMENT: None
OFFICIAL DUTY STATION: Los Feliz Health Center
SUMMARY:
The Screener is responsible for screening all patients, visitors, vendors and employees that will be entering El Monte/Rosemead Health Center on a daily basis.

APHCV expects all employees to respond and participate to emergency situation per emergency policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check the temperature of all patients, visitors, vendors and employees upon entrance using the Wlech Allyn Electronic Thermometer orally.

For APHCV Workforce: If they bring their own thermometer, ensure that they show proof of temperature reading before entrance.

If they don’t have a thermometer available, perform the above.
Perform COVID-19 precautionary screening.

For patients, visitors, and vendors: ask the individual if they have any COVID-19 like symptoms such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, headache, sore throat, etc.

and if they have any exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual in the household.
For APHCV Workforce: make sure they complete they complete the APHCV Daily Staff Screening
Record temperatures:
For APHCV Workforce: digitally record it on the laptop
For patients who have an appointment with a provider write it on a piece of paper and instruct patient to show it to the nurse
Direct patients to the appropriate check-in station for appointments.

Answer and make phone calls as necessary.

Call lab or providers accordingly if a patient has to communicate something with them before their appointment or if a patient is late.

Assist Dispensary staff as needed if a patient is coming to pick up medication by writing the patients full name and date of birth and communicating it with Dispensary staff.

Ensure all individuals are following COVID-19 guidelines during the temperature screening process such as wearing masks and maintaining appropriate social distance of 6ft.

as recommended by the CDC.

Adhere to strict PPE requirement
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Good customer service skills
Highly organized
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel or any type of electronic medical records.
Conflict resolution and on-the-spot decision making skills
HR Procedural requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the United States
A valid California Driver’s license with clean records and access to insured automobile
Completion of APHCV Health Assessment Form
Completion of DOJ background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to materially perform the task normally associated with the position including but not limited to: ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
