Overview

Founded in 1887, California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, not-for-profit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles. The hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II trauma center, the Los Angeles Center for Women’s Health, obstetrics and pediatric services, and comprehensive cardiac and surgical services.  California Hospital is home to Hope Street Margolis Family Center, a community health, education, and resource center helping thousands of families and children.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

There’s an unmistakable energy on the Telemetry floor. Here, you need quick thinking skills. Right now, there’s a patient with chest pain, and you need to rule out causes. There’s another patient with an external pacemaker who’s on several drips requiring your constant attention. And that’s just two of 80 beds. Fortunately, you work with a computerized charting system, and everything you need is on your mobile cart. Of course every day is busy, but you thrive on the challenge. You began as an intern, and this is preparing you for the next step in your career move to Critical Care.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • One year Telemetry RN experience in an acute setting
  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of California.
  • BLS Basic LIve Support American Heart Association
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular American Heart Association
  • EKG Dysrhythmia Certification
