Job Summary: Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of Amentum is currently seeking a Hoist Mechanic to join our Maintenance team located in Carlsbad, NM.The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Hoist maintenance activities which include preventive, corrective and modification type work activities to ensure that WIPP is able to achieve mission milestones on time and within budget.
The Hoist Mechanic (HM) will be expected to follow all company procedures, policies, regulations and standards in a manner that achieves WIPP’s performance goals by maintaining Safety and Procedure Compliance as two of our core values.
The HM will be able to review drawings, procedures and work documents at a minimum to ensure that work is executable.
The HM will obtain the necessary qualifications in a timely manner and maintain them as required.This is a NWP Bargaining Unit Position.
Minimum Requirements: High School graduate or GED is required.Four years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment or four years of industrial maintenance training/education is required.Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.
Preferred Qualifications: Underground Maintenance Mechanic experience preferred.Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
