Business Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maximize market penetration in Dayton Superior’s Tilt-Up sector by cultivating current customer base and developing new accounts within areas of responsibility assigned by the Director of Business Development. Manage assigned region with Top-Down approach to drive sector growth and optimization of current customer base.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, manage, and update a business and marketing plan for assigned region.
  • Interact with appropriate managers and sales personnel to coordinate sales activity and visits.
  • Work cross-departmentally with other internal business sectors such as; Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Service.
  • Develop Top-Down Sales approach by visiting Developers, Architects, Structural Engineers, and Contractors.
  • Create and maintain a database of contacts, specifications and industry contacts.
  • Develop Tools and support local Sales team to drive sub-regional and Bottom-Up Sales growth.
  • Attend appropriate industry events to include, but not limited to trade shows and exhibitions, trade associations and related industry events.
  • Conduct presentations for customers to showcase Dayton Superior’s product offerings, services, and technical capabilities.
  • Monthly reporting to management.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks at hand
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite
  • High energy, self-motivated
  • Ability to work with little day-to-day supervision
  • Blueprint reading knowledge
  • Knowledge of state and local codes and specifications
  • Ability to take direction

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration with concentration in marketing, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum five years’ experience in sales (inside or outside) preferable.

  • Must be capable of walking extensively on jobsites, in factories, and through distribution centers.
