Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop: Catering Sales Manager

Summary of Position: Directly responsible for the Los Angeles Catering Department of Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop and all operational functions including customer relations, building sales, planning & organizing catering events, and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, guest service and satisfaction within the catering department.The successful candidate will effectively organize and oversee catering and special events from start to finish while keeping the customers and operation in mind by maximizing space and generating monthly metrics.

Communicate with customers and team members in all phases to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Maintain excellent relationships with the client and their guests, as well as other departments within the operations.

Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the following:Duties & Responsibilities : Prospect, solicit and close new business as well as maintain repeat clients.Manages local Marketing Outreach programs in order to build sales and generate new avenues of revenue.Manage all onsite and offsite catering and event promotions.

Including working with restaurant managers to source event staffing, organizing walk-throughs, tastings, and coordinating outside services.Assists Marketing Director in creating in-house promotions, updating marketing tools and ensure proper communication to management teams of GL for proper execution.Work with the Upper Management and other General Managers to plan and price menus and events cost outs.Prepare all required contracts, paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner for all catering and events.Work with Catering team to help control food cost and usage through proper execution of catering procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.Responsible for scheduling and attending bi-weekly catering meetings with team members to facilitate caterings and promotional events.Ensure that all products are consistently prepared and served according to Greenleaf’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.Analyze the success and opportunities for improvements to adapt and alter the program to maintain a successful catering and events program.Develop, plan and carry out restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns.Oversee personnel during on and off-site events in safe operation of all equipment, cleanliness and sanitation practices.Maintain a Serve Safe Certification at all times.

Work with chefs to maintain appropriate food safety practices at offsite events and transferring product to and from events.Facilitates communication on GL’s behalf including, but not limited to, Yelp Reviews, donation requests and community events.Schedule labor as required by anticipated event business while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation in offsite events through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.Ensure that all catering and event supplies and inventory is maintained in excellent working condition and cleanliness through personal inspection.Understand and comply with federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, alcohol awareness, safety and labor requirements of employees and guests at events.You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description at the discretion of the Managing Member.The Company may change the job description, responsibilities and duties by written notice to Manager.Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience in varied restaurant positions.At least 2 years’ experience in catering sales.Must be able to communicate clearly with chef, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of GRM’s trading area.Must be able to exercise initiative, critical thinking and good judgment in problem solving and decision-making.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.Must possess excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.Have knowledge of local employment and labor laws.Ability to meet deadlines and work within budgetary guidelines.Have open availability including weekdays, weekends and holidays.Previous food service and hospitality related experience, progressive management experience in food and beverage operationsPossess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register, POS system and restaurant base software.Computer proficient on Windows and basic software experience.May require periods of pro-longed sitting, bending stooping and/or stretching.

Position dictates eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer keyboard, calculator, telephone, and other office equipment.

Normal range of hearing and eyesight is needed in or to record, prepare, and submit appropriate reports.

Occasional light lifting (40 lbs.) is required.

Position dictates candidate to work under stressful conditions and be subject to irregular hours in order to accomplish task as set forth above.Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:Catering Sales & Event Management: 3 years (Required)
