ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Hospital Laboratory Technician I, Per Diem to join their BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Panorama City.
In this role, you may be assigned to provide support to multiple BURL sites.
Primary responsibilities include:Performs phlebotomy on patients of all agesPrepares specimens for analysis, performs laboratory functions, and assists in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delaysProvides coverage at multiple sitesNOTE: this position will be expected to work at various locations, including but not limited to Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills and Santa ClaritaQualificationsA current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I CertificateMust have at least 3 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate)Must be able to work at various locations (e.G.
Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita)Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as neededProficient in using Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationshipsExcellent communication, organization and time management skillsSkill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS)Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferredUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
